How to Cook Bison Meat
Cooking a Bison Steak based on
Approximately 1 inch thick or 7-9oz
A Simple Cooking Guide based on weight and thickness of your Bison Steak.
Drizzle a couple of tablespoons of olive oil into a sizzling hot pan. Lay your seasoned steaks in the pan or on the grill for a nice sear.
4 minutes – 2 minutes each side (125F degrees internal temp)
5 minutes - 3 minutes first side, 2 minutes for the second side until your steak reaches an internal temp of (135F degrees)
6.5 minutes - 3 to 3.5 each side for medium (145F degrees internal temp perfection)
8 minutes - 4 minutes on each side until your steak reaches an internal temp of (155F degrees)
Add or decrease searing time by 1 minute for each side, for every ½ inch or 2 oz. difference, in thickness or weight, of your Bison Steak.
